The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. (1) Act--Texas Government Code, Chapter 411, Subchapter H. (2) Applicant--A license applicant or an instructor applicant. (3) Certified handgun instructor--A handgun instructor who has been instructed and qualified by the department to instruct in the use of handguns specifically for the purpose of training applicants for a concealed handgun license. (4) Department--The Texas Department of Public Safety, including employees of the department. (5) Director--The Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety or the Director's designee. (6) Director's designee--For purposes of conducting background investigations under this chapter, refers to an employee of the department, unless otherwise specified by the Director. (7) License holder--A person licensed to carry a concealed handgun under the Act. (8) Residence--One's home and fixed place of habitation to which one intends to return after any temporary absence. The term "residence" has the meaning assigned in §15.25 of this title (relating to Address). |
