RULE §34.205Testing Laboratory Approval

Testing laboratory approval is automatically granted to those laboratories that are approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a nationally recognized testing laboratory. This approval is limited to the specific product(s) or categories of products approved by OSHA.

  (1) Approved laboratories. The following organizations are approved by the commission as testing laboratories without regard to specific product categories:

    (A) Underwriters Laboratories, Incorporated, Northbrook, Illinois;

    (B) Factory Mutual Research Corporation, Norwood, Massachusetts.

  (2) Limited approval. California Air Resources Board, Sacramento, California, is approved for the certification of Stage II (as defined by the Federal Clean Air Act Stage II rules) vapor recovery equipment only.

  (3) Within five years from the effective date of this chapter, the laboratories approved by paragraph (1) of this section must submit a completed application form to the commission containing updated information and supporting documentation required by §34.206 of this title (relating to Alternate Method for Approval) on all certification programs not approved by OSHA.
