| (a) Funding. Funds awarded through this program may not exceed the amount appropriated by the Legislature for that program plus any gifts, grants and donations of real or personal property from any entity, subject to limitations or conditions set by law, for the purposes of this subchapter. (b) Award Amounts and Disbursements. The maximum award for a student through any of the programs is the lesser of the student's financial need or the program maximum as stated below: (1) for the Scholarship Program for Rural Professional Nursing Students--$1,500 per year for those enrolled in an associate degree program; $2,500 for each student enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program; (2) for the Scholarship Program for Licensed Vocational Nurses Becoming Professional Nurses--$1,500 for students enrolled in an associate degree program; $2,500 for those enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program; (3) for the Scholarship Program for Rural BSN and Graduate Nursing Students--$2,500 per year; and (4) for the General Scholarship for Professional Nursing Students--$2,000 per year. (c) Uses. No scholarship disbursed to a student may be used for any purpose other than for meeting the cost of attending an approved institution. (d) Over Awards. At the time an award is made to a student, it may not exceed the student's need. No future adjustment is required, however, if subsequent awards during the student's period of enrollment cause an over award of $300 or less. |
