| (a) Authority. Authority for this subchapter is provided in the Texas Education Code, Chapter 56, Subchapter J, Minority Doctoral Incentive Program. These rules establish procedures to administer the subchapter as prescribed in the Texas Education Code, §§56.161 - 56.171. (b) The purpose of the Minority Doctoral Incentive Program of Texas is to increase the number of minority students pursuing doctoral degrees and to increase minority representation among the faculty and academic administrators in public and independent institutions of higher education in Texas. |
