| (a) Authority. Authority for this subchapter is provided in the Texas Education Code, Chapter 61, Subchapter L, Financial Aid for Professional Nursing Students and Vocational Nursing Students and Loan Repayment Program for Certain Nurses. These rules establish procedures to administer the subchapter as prescribed in the Texas Education Code, §§61.651 - 61.658. (b) The purpose of the Graduate Nurses' Education Loan Repayment Program is to promote the health educational needs and health care of the citizens of Texas by encouraging qualified graduate professional nurses to serve as faculty in nursing education programs as advanced nurse practitioners. |
